About Mike Troilo
Dr. Michael Troilo is the Chapman Professor of International Business and Finance at the University of Tulsa. He teaches a range of courses in economics, finance, and management across the undergraduate, master's, executive, and doctoral levels, receiving TU's Outstanding Teacher Award in 2023. This honor is the university's highest faculty recognition.
Mike has studied and worked in the Asia-Pacific region since 1998, with a focus on entrepreneurship and economic development, particularly in China. From 2010, he has been a consultant to the United Nations ESCAP, the International Labour Organization, the Asian Development Bank, and the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank dedicated to poverty eradication. A Fulbright Scholar, he has published over fifty academic articles, chapters, and books, and he has visited over fifty countries across six continents.
Professor Troilo holds a Ph.D. in business economics and international business from the University of Michigan, an MBA and an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia, and a BBA in accounting from the College of William and Mary. He is a licensed CPA in Virginia.
