As Catholics, we are called to live a life of generosity. Understanding that all good gifts come from God, we are called to give back--time, talent and treasures--in the ways we can.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself." - MT 22:37-39
Being a good steward of our time menas making time for the most important Person--God. If we truly love the Lord and place Him first in our lives, we will make time to be with Him in prayer.
Give time to the Lord:"Anyone among you who aspires to greatness must serve the rest. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for the many." - Mark 10:43-45
"Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood." -Mark 12:43-44
At our parish, we are encouraging each other to be better stewards of our moeny, setting aside a generous gift to God each week through the parish offertory. Our finances are a gift from God as He has enabled us each with the talents we use to raise or earn income.
Money plays a significant role in our lives, and preciously because of this, it needs to be aligned with our most deeply held beliefs. "Where your treasure is, there also lies your heart." -Luke 12:34
